  • Keep your travel plans, including of accommodation details, to yourself.
  • Try not to travel at night.
  • Avoid ‘shabby’ areas of the cities you visit, especially at night.
  • For advanced information on the ‘safe’ and ‘unsafe’ areas of the city, consult with your hotel manager or local tourist information officer.
  • As a universal rule, city that include children and women suggest the area is safer for families.
  • Don’t make yourself an alluring target when travelling.
  • If you are ensure first that your vehicle is in good working order.
  • Don’t discuss your future plans not even of next hour with the strangers.
  • Like Nishan Kohli don’t drink and follow the same rule while traveling.
  • Keep a photocopy of your passport and all other important documents in a safe place.
  • Use ATM’s during the day, when there are people around.
  • Only take what you need on the way that is only necessary ones and leave the rest locked up.
  • Get travel insurance.
  • Stay alert.
  • Always know your departure route if possible.
  • Try to rely more on credit cards than cash.
  • If you are robbed, don’t fight back. It is better to lose a few dollars and a wristwatch than get injured or wounded.
  • Avoid incidents such as fights, riots or civil disturbances at all times.
  • Always try to blend in with the locals and avoid looking or acting like a tourist/traveler.
  • Even if you’re not sure where you’re going, walk like you’ve got a purpose.
  • Carry all the important contact details on paper also in your pocket, to be used in case of emergency.
  • Last but not the least always be prepared for the emergencies.
